Frequently Asked Questions
1. How many potential matches/partners can I be actively introduced to at the same time?
In order to maintain the integrity of any relationship for the purposes of applying for a partner visa, you may be introduced to only one potential match at a time. If after a reasonable amount of time the relationship does not progress, please contact our relationship manager assigned to you for further information.
2. How do I make contact with a potential partner?
If as a sponsor you find one or more potential partners you may be matched with, you must first engage our introduction service. A relationship manager will then review your details, and those of your desired match, and reach out to them to seek permission to connect you. If agreeable, the relationship manager will then arrange contact between yourself and your match.
3. What if my nominated match does not want to connect?
The connection process is handled by one of our relationship managers. If the person you choose to match with declines to connect, you may nominated another person to connect with. Please speak to our relationship manager assigned to you.
4. What if the relationship doesn’t work out?
If, within 6 months of your relationship manager connecting you and your potential match, the relationship does work out and does not lead to a visa application, you may be entitled to nominate another person to be connected to. Please contact our relationship manager assigned to you for further information. Note that after your first introduction, you need to arrange subsequent connections with our relationship manager and not through the web portal.
5. How long do I have to make another connection?
You have 6 months from the date our relationship manager connects you to decide if the relationship is not going to work out, and request another introduction. Please contact our relationship manager assigned to you to arrange this.
6. How many introductions can I have?
Because of the connections involved, the requirement for a genuine and continuing relationship, and to maintain the integrity of the process in general, we can only connect you with one person at a time. However, if the relationship does not work out within the specified time, you may ask your relationship manager to connect you with another person. In this way, you may connect with up to three potential matches. If none of them lead to a visa application within the specified time, then you may re-engage our introduction service and begin the process afresh.
Note that it is a requirement of the Dept of Home affairs that both sponsor and visa applicant MUST have physically met in creating a relationship before proceeding to a visa application.
7. Is the introduction service fee refundable?
No, the fee for the introduction service is not refundable.
